Clara Karger

Communications Chair

Clara Karger is a communications strategist and advocate for equity in public policy. She currently serves as Press Secretary to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, where she leads strategic communications initiatives. Previously, Clara directed communications for the Central City Association, focusing on enhancing Downtown Los Angeles' vibrancy and opportunity.​

Clara's commitment to public service began in education, teaching elementary school and implementing literacy programs in St. Louis Public Schools. Her experiences in the classroom fueled her passion for systemic change, leading her to complete the Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs. As a California Women's List board member, Clara contributes her expertise to support pro-choice Democratic women candidates and advocate for equity in political representation.​
