Katharine (Kate) Eger
Board Member
Katharine (Kate) Eger has nearly a decade of experience at the intersection of politics, policy, and clean energy. She currently serves as a lobbyist at the Weideman Group, advocating for climate and energy policies that drive sustainable development and economic resilience.
A dedicated advocate for women’s leadership in politics, Kate has worked to expand equitable access to opportunity at all levels of government. Most recently, she served as Finance Director and Senior Advisor for Jessica Morse’s 2024 congressional campaign in California’s 3rd District. She previously worked as Deputy National Finance Director for Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), first on her 2018 campaign and then (after Rosen's landslide victory in a purple state!) in Washington, DC. A committed campaigner, she has knocked doors up and down the ballot—from presidential races to local school board elections.
Beyond politics, Kate has worked on global economic development and climate policy. She served with USAID’s Power Africa Initiative, fostering private-sector partnerships to expand energy access across sub-Saharan Africa. She also worked with microfinance organizations in Tanzania, Rwanda, and Kenya, supporting financial inclusion initiatives for women entrepreneurs. While earning her Master’s degree at UC Berkeley, she delved into the climate tech space, working on policy and strategy for Vammo, Brazil’s leading two-wheel electric vehicle company, and for U.S.-based battery storage innovator Our Next Energy (ONE).
Kate holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from UC Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy, where she co-led the Berkeley Energy & Resources Collaborative (BERC) as co-President. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Claremont McKenna College.
A proud Californian, she splits her time between Truckee and Sacramento and enjoys hiking, skiing, biking, or doing whatever she can to be outside.
